My Dearest Summer,

As I sit down to write you this letter, I can't help but feel a sense of melancholy in the air. You arrived with your usual promise of warmth and sunshine, but this year, you seem to have lost some of your lustre. Perhaps it's the ever-increasing cost of living that casts a shadow over your days, or the looming spectre of rising interest rates that threatens to chill our financial prospects.

I couldn't help but notice the frustration in the faces of traveler’s as flight delays became all too common during your reign. The skies that were once so inviting now seem uncertain, just like our future.

And then there are the school holidays, a bittersweet reminder of how fleeting your presence truly is. The children, so full of energy, returning to their studies, while the workforce reluctantly trudges back to the offices, leaving behind the carefree days we shared.

But my dearest Summer, I don't wish to dwell on the melancholy of the impending winter. Instead, I choose to embrace the joys it brings. The winter socials and dinners with friends, where laughter and warmth abound, are moments to cherish. The family gatherings, snugly tucked indoors, create memories that last a lifetime.

The thought of being cozy in front of a crackling fire, sipping hot cocoa, warms my heart. The soft glow of candles casting a gentle light upon our faces, as we share stories and dreams, brings a sense of intimacy that only winter can provide. Long, warm baths become a luxurious escape, a soothing balm for our souls.

And then there's nesting, my dear Summer, the art of making our homes a haven against the cold. Fluffy blankets and soft pillows beckon us to curl up with a good book. The scent of freshly baked goods wafts through the house, filling it with comfort and joy.

So, as we brace ourselves for the long, cold, and expensive winter ahead, I choose to focus on the warmth and togetherness it offers. Just as the seasons change, so too do our circumstances, and we adapt and find happiness in each new chapter.
